- Trigo Mourisco (buckwheat)
- Algas marinhas (seaweed), como Nori, etc.
Citando:
"Sales of coconut flour, touted as a gluten-free alternative to regular flour and high in fibre and protein, were up 24 per cent on the year before, while buckwheat sales rose 82 per cent and chia seeds sales were up 62 per cent.
Cactus water, said to have high antioxidant, vitamin and mineral levels, and potassium rich seaweed have both been strong sellers for the supermarket."

http://time.com/4547919/this-compound-in-broccoli-can-slow-aging/
https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/2072621/broccoli-cucumber-and-avocado-may-hold-key-to-anti-ageing-claim-scientists/
https://www.yahoo.com/style/totally-normal-dinner-food-might-231002455.html
Citando:
"The mice who were treated with NMN gained less weight, converted food into energy more quickly, and had better blood sugar levels than the animals who were not given the compound.
The reduced risk of age-related diseases led researchers to speculate that consuming foods with NMN could potentially lead to longer life spans for humans. Researchers at Keio University in Tokyo have launched a study on humans by giving the participants supplements of NMN in pill form."

- O tamanho "normal": https://www.prozis.com/pt/pt/prozis-foods/manteiga-de-amendoim-500-g
- O tamanho "alarve": https://www.prozis.com/pt/pt/prozis-foods/manteiga-de-amendoim-1000-g
Conseguem adivinhar qual?
Fica a informação. FFR.

Ai os Glifosatos - reloaded
A novela continua...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/reuters/article-3871834/WHO-cancer-agency-asked-experts-withhold-weedkiller-documents.html
Citando:
"Pressure has been growing on the experts who worked on IARC's glyphosate review in part because other regulators, including in the United States, Europe, Canada, Japan and New Zealand, say the weedkiller is unlikely to pose a cancer risk to humans.
The conflicting scientific assessments have delayed a decision on whether glyphosate should be relicensed for sale in Europe, and prompted senior U.S. lawmakers to question whether IARC should receive funding from U.S. taxpayers.
IARC defends its methods as scientifically sound and says its monographs - the name it gives to its classifications of carcinogens - are "widely respected for their scientific rigor, standardized and transparent process and ... freedom from conflicts of interest"."

Resveratrol ajuda a corrigir níveis hormonais de mulheres (PCOS)
http://m.thesundaily.my/node/403112
Citando:
"RESVERATROL, a polyphenol which occurs naturally in red wine, grapes, nuts and chocolate, could correct a hormonal imbalance in women with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), a condition which can cause infertility in women of childbearing age.
Researchers at the University of California, San Diego, have demonstrated that a polyphenol called resveratrol, which is found in red wine, peanuts, blackberries and chocolate, was able to correct hormone levels in 30 patients with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)."

Pasta de dentes revolucionária

"His research is estimated to have saved more than a million lives worldwide.
Speaking to the Daily Telegraph, the professor added: ‘This could have policy implications for tens of millions of people alongside statins, aspirin and beta blockers and other agents that help lower cardiovascular disease.
‘The distinguishing thing in my mind about this is that it is a fairly simple thing to do and yet it could have a big impact. And there are no side-effects that we know of.’
(...)
Created in the US, the special toothpaste removes twice as much plaque as rivals.
Levels of inflammation in those using it fell by 29 per cent – only slightly lower than the level of 37 per cent achieved by the use of statins.
Inflammation is measured by the high sensitivity C-reactive protein, a marker for heart attacks and strokes."

Noz-de-areca e cancro

Privação do sononpode levar a depressão?

"But could things really be the other way around? Could poor sleep be making you depressed? Over the past decade or so it has become increasingly clear that disturbed sleep often comes before an episode of depression, not afterwards, helping to do away with the notion that sleep problems are secondary to other disorders."
(...)
"It was found that participants who had been sleep deprived for approximately 35 hours showed a greater amygdala response when presented with emotionally negative pictures when compared to those who had not been sleep deprived. Interestingly, links with parts of the brain that regulate the amygdala seemed weaker, too – meaning that the participants were perhaps less able to control their emotions. Such findings could help to explain how poor sleep may actually cause difficulties such as depression."

"So what’s it all about? Well, there’s no direct translation: hygge – pronounced ‘hoo-ga’ – is a Nordic word that describes ‘a feeling of cosiness and content’, and ‘enjoying the good things in life with good people around you’.
For Swedish people like me, the traditional midsummer celebration is the essence of ‘hygge’, but its philosophy goes far beyond an annual lunch in the garden: it is a mentality shared by all Viking descendants.
And there is overwhelming medical evidence that adopting a few of our Nordic ways might just be the health boost you’re looking for…"

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2016/10/04/scientists-discover-fat-craving-gene-after-hosting-all-you-can-e/
Citando:
"Scientists have found a gene mutation which makes fatty foods irresistible, and even causes carriers to reject low-calorie versions of the same meal - even when it looks and tastes identical."
Sobre o gene MC4R:
"British scientists have identified a section of genetic code that makes half the population more vulnerable to obesity, diabetes and heart disease.
Those carrying the sequence are on average 4.4lb (2kg) heavier than those who lack it, with 2cm larger waistline, and a tendency to become resistant to the effects of insulin - which can lead to Type 2 diabetes.
The DNA sequence - carried by 50 per cent of the UK population - is a third more common among people of Indian Asian ancestry than among Europeans, say researchers."
