Comida processada?

Nahhh:
https://www.bmj.com/content/365/bmj.l1451

Citando:
"Conclusions In this large observational prospective study, higher consumption of ultra-processed foods was associated with higher risks of cardiovascular, coronary heart, and cerebrovascular diseases. These results need to be confirmed in other populations and settings, and causality remains to be established. Various factors in processing, such as nutritional composition of the final product, additives, contact materials, and neoformed contaminants might play a role in these associations, and further studies are needed to understand better the relative contributions. Meanwhile, public health authorities in several countries have recently started to promote unprocessed or minimally processed foods and to recommend limiting the consumption of ultra-processed foods.

Study registration ClinicalTrials.gov NCT03335644."

Ansiedade e depressão relacionados com morte por cancro

https://stv.tv/news/scotland/1379060-anxiety-could-heighten-risk-of-dying-from-cancer-study-finds/

Citando:
"Dr David Batty from University College London, the lead author, said: "After statistical control for these factors, the results show that compared with people in the least distressed group, death rates in the most distressed group were consistently higher for cancer of the bowel, prostate, pancreas, and oesophagus and for leukaemia."
The researchers said the study did not prove distress definitely caused increased death, and it may be that undiagnosed cancer lowers people's mood."

Earlier this year Public Health England (PHE) advised everyone to take vitamin D supplements during autumn and winter.
A review found the equivalent of at least 10mcg each day is required but millions of people could be missing out. "

Second study this week links whole grains with long life | Reuters

Cereais integrais associados a vida mais longa em 2 estudos recentemente publicados.
Citando:

"One serving of whole grains can be a half-cup of cooked brown rice, cooked oatmeal, or cooked 100 percent whole grain pasta, or one slice of 100 percent whole grain bread.

The BMJ review covered 45 studies involving more than 700,000 people altogether, and 100,000 deaths during follow-up. Researchers found the biggest difference in risk between people who ate two servings of whole grains per day and those who ate none. People who got two servings per day had lower risks of coronary heart disease, cardiovascular disease, death from stroke, cancer, respiratory disease, infectious disease and diabetes."

Terapia de hormonas por 10 anos em vez de 5 (estudo Cancro Mama)

Um estudo vantajoso para... As farmacêuticas e não só?

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2016/jun/05/breast-cancer-drugs-decade-study-aromatase-inhibitors

Citando:
"Women should be offered 10 years of drugs to prevent the return of breast cancer, rather than five as now, according to a major study showed longer-term treatment reduced the numbers whose disease came back.
Huge numbers of women in the UK and around the world are already taking hormone therapy – drugs that block oestrogen in the body that can fuel breast cancer growth. Many abandon them within the first few years because of the side-effects or because they feel well and do not want to be on medication."
